Specialist, Graphic Designer Position Profile
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Production Print Graphic Designer to join our team. This role focuses on designing and preparing high-quality print materials that align with brand standards and production specifications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite on a Mac, follow brand guidelines provided by customers, and balance a workload of 70% production print and 30% design work-including file fixes, preflighting, templating, and occasional full design projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates excellent customer service and represents Ricoh professionally.
- Strong organizational, customer service, and follow-up skills.
- Develops artistic concepts into visual media.
- Designs using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver on Mac and PC platforms.
- Provides graphic consultation and support to internal and client stakeholders.
- Responsible for production art including layout for print, packaging, advertising, point-of-purchase, and digital graphics.
- Meets customer quality and design requirements.
- Designs and formats multi-page documents using style sheets and mapping.
- Stays current with industry trends, ideas, and technologies.
- Uses innovation to meet design briefs within cost, time, and client constraints.
- Adheres to legal requirements related to duplication, printing, software, and fonts.
- Follows production schedules and meets deadlines.
- Consults with clients and staff to identify graphic needs, budget constraints, and project timelines.
- Reviews proofs and collaborates with printers on production.
- Manages digital asset libraries and technologies.
- May coordinate and lead other designers.
- Creates and conceptualizes brand identities using logos, layouts, and color palettes.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Design preferred, or equivalent coursework/certification.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven design and layout abilities.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Print production experience preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
