Printing Press Operator Job Description This role focuses on operating and maintaining printing equipment to produce high-quality paper and silicone products. You will set up and run a two-color offset printing press, ensure accurate execution of work orders, and troubleshoot mechanical issues to keep production running smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Operate a two-color offset printing press to produce paper and silicone wristbands according to work order specifications. Set up, start up, shut down, and clean up printing equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Read, interpret, and follow detailed work order instructions to ensure accurate print quality, color, and layout. Adjust tooling and machine settings based on work order requirements to achieve optimal print results. Mix inks to achieve correct colors and consistency for each production run. Mount press plates accurately to ensure proper registration and print alignment. Perform mechanical troubleshooting when the machine jams or the final product does not meet quality standards. Monitor the production process and inspect finished products to maintain consistent quality. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures during press operation and maintenance. Essential Skills At least 2 years of printing operator experience. At least 2 years of mechanical troubleshooting experience on production or printing equipment. Proficiency in operating printing presses, including offset or flexographic equipment. Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting when equipment malfunctions or product quality issues occur. Ability to read and understand work orders and translate them into accurate machine settings and production steps. Experience with print setup, including mounting press plates and adjusting tooling. Strong attention to detail to ensure print quality, color accuracy, and product consistency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with flexographic printing, flexo press operation, or flexographic printing presses. Background in general production or machine operation in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience mixing inks and working with printing materials. Work Environment This is a production and printing environment focused on manufacturing paper and silicone wristbands using offset and flexographic printing technologies. You will work directly with printing presses and related equipment, performing setup, operation, troubleshooting, and cleaning tasks. The facility operates multiple shifts, including a first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a second shift from 4:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and a split shift from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The role requires working on your feet around machinery in a hands-on, fast-paced setting where safety, quality, and attention to detail are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
