The Printing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safety, quality, productivity, and development of employees within the printing press and sheeting departments on 1 st shift. This role ensures efficient operations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day operations of the printing press and sheeting departments
- Manage departmental performance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production
- Evaluate employee performance, identify skill gaps, and implement training plans
- Provide ongoing coaching, development, and performance feedback to team members
- Analyze operational and performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Enforce workplace safety policies and lead daily safety discussions
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and provide direction to meet customer specifications
- Lead monthly departmental meetings focused on safety, quality, productivity, and process improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production and process issues
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of printing processes (offset printing experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of graphics software and Computer-to-Plate (CTP) systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and influence team members
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently address production challenges
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with production systems
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Folding carton industry experience is a plus
