Flexo Press Operator - 1st Shift

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flexo Press Operator to join our team. As a Flexo Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. You will ensure that the equipment is functioning properly, monitor the printing process, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain print quality and productivity.

Schedule: 6:00am - 2:30pm M-F with overtime as needed

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience as a Flexographic Press Operator or in a similar role

- Strong knowledge of flexographic printing techniques and equipment

- Proficient in reading and interpreting job orders, blueprints, and work instructions

- Familiarity with different types of inks, substrates, and adhesives used in flexographic printing

- Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform regular maintenance on flexographic printing equipment

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain print quality throughout production runs

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make adjustments to optimize print performance

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment

- Good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

- Set up and prepare flexographic printing presses for production runs

- Load and position printing plates and cylinders onto the press, ensuring proper alignment

- Mix inks according to specifications and fill ink fountains or reservoirs

- Adjust press settings, such as speed, tension, and registration, to ensure proper print quality

- Monitor press operation and make adjustments as necessary to maintain print quality and productivity

- Identify and troubleshoot printing issues, such as color mismatches, streaking, or registration errors

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the press and related equipment

- Monitor and control ink and substrate waste to minimize production costs

- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

- Collaborate with other team members, such as prepress operators and quality control technicians, to ensure efficient and accurate production

- Document production and quality data accurately and complete necessary paperwork.
