This position implements campus services operations by performing pre-press services, customer service, recordkeeping, copy center tasks, and provides support for mail services and switchboard operations.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Follows established practices and procedures to fulfill college printing and copying requests. Performs pre-press services including adjustments/corrections of "print-ready" items provided by the client; performs graphic design, secondary to principal designer; ensures quality control with careful proofing of creatives and applicable test printing ahead of production; communicates and facilitates required adjustments as needed to complete jobs; and/or performing other related activities.
Performs bindery/finishing work including but not limited to coil binding, scoring, folding, perforating, tabbing, trimming, stitching and hole punch; and operates large digital presses and large-format printers. Provides amenable solutions to production obstacles that prohibit efficient production.
Provides customer service for printing services, switchboard operations, and mail services. Responds to requests for information and/or applicable inquiries and requests; communicates if job requests can be fulfilled in-house or might require outsourcing; communicates tentative production timeline for assigned requests or delivery estimates for product ordered; consults with supervisor to procure any additional resources needed for production - including ordering out-of-stock paper or finishing/bindery product or outsourcing to an external vendor and/or performing other related activities.
Performs a variety of activities in support of printing services, mail services, and switchboard operations. Trains and assigns work to student employees. Tracks the completion of jobs; receives and inspects incoming supply deliveries for accuracy and quality; tracks receivables; maintains the cleanliness of the work area, processes incoming and outgoing mail; provides switchboard support; and/or performing other related campus services activities.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Required Training and Experience
Associate degree or two-year technical certificate in Printing, Graphics, or related field, and at least two years of experience working in a printing services field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above.

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, chemicals, and intense noises.
