Job Description
Overview
The Vice President of Print and Production is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of agency print production operations. In addition, this role is also the primary sales support resource for new business development that involves direct mail/print solutions, managing comprehensive client relationships. This executive position requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and the ability to drive growth through exceptional client service and material cost savings through production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Oversee all print production operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
Develop and implement agency production workflows, standards, and best practices
Manage staffing models to ensure efficient resource allocations
Ensure compliance with quality control standards and industry regulations
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production and procurement processes
Client Relationship Management
Serve as primary Agency direct mail/print sales support
Deliver print related content for client pitch decks
Lead client presentations, negotiations, and contract renewals
Resolve complex client issues and ensure exceptional service delivery
Collaborate with sales team to support new client acquisition
Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvement initiatives
Revenue Reporting on direct mail/print transaction client revenue
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing production management team
Recruit, hire, and retain top talent across production roles
Establish performance metrics and conduct regular team evaluations
Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and customer focus
Provide coaching and professional development opportunities
Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production and client service demands
Strategic Planning
Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform business decisions
Collaborate with executive team on company-wide strategic initiatives
Evaluate and recommend new technology, equipment, and service offerings
Establish key performance indicators and regularly report on departmental performance
Required Qualifications
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field; MBA preferred
Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in print production
Minimum 5 years in a senior management role with P&L responsibility
Proven track record managing large client portfolios and complex production operations
Experience with diverse print technologies and production methods
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and people management capabilities
Excellent client relationship management and communication skills
Deep understanding of print production processes, quality standards, and industry best practices
Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving profitability
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with production management software and ERP systems
