Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, the graphic designer on the University Marketing and Communications (UMC) team is responsible for the design and technical production of a variety of communications to support department priorities. The position leverages Bryant University's brand guidelines and standards to produce graphic design across print, web, and other digital materials. This position serves as a member of a cross-functional team to deliver high-value work.

Principal Accountabilities
Contribute as a strategic graphic designer across mediums including print (brochures, postcards, booklets, magazines), digital (display ads, video graphics) and web (UX design support) on a cross functional team. The ability to work with editors, writers, photographers, printers, team members, and the ability to collaborate with them, is required.
Create on-brand materials that contribute to the goals of the department and the university.
Partner with photographers to provide on-site art direction to optimize shoots for use in print and web projects.
Work with print production vendors to ensure high quality deliverables. Demonstrate a high degree of technical proficiency in creating production-ready printer files.
Ensure that designs are compelling and effective, meet deadlines, and are consistent with broad strategic positioning goals for the University.
Utilize a high degree of creativity and self-direction to see that assigned projects reach their full potential.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position is best served by an individual with:
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, or a related design/fine arts discipline, is strongly preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years of increasingly challenging experience in a diversified design marketing environment, including direct experience in publications design.
Demonstrated leadership ability and project ownership, the ability to forge strong collaborative partnerships and to earn trust within an organization.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work quickly and creatively to bring innovative and cost-effective solutions to the task at hand are essential.
Computer literacy required, with proficiency in industry standard MAC software including Adobe Creative Suite, and PowerPoint/Keynote. Figma or Sketch experience a plus.
Understanding of marketing principles and use of market research and analytics.
Ability to manage many concurrent projects from concept development through delivery.
