Pre-Press Technician

We are currently looking for a candidate to fill a role as a Pre-Press Technician.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The successful candidate will be detail oriented and have experience with print production and pre-press processes. Must be able to work with multiple projects and be able to perform within tight deadlines, have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to a changing environment and acquire new skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow workflow process
• Read and follow schedule, job jacket handling, specifications, and SOPs
• Deliver job components to production (plated cylinders, screens, and dies)
• Prepare, mount, and tear down plates and screens according to job specifications
• Maintain print component inventory
• Adjust and manipulate files including photo adjustment / enhancement.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on plate and screen processing equipment
• Maintain 5S, proper storage of plate/screen components, general cleanliness

Mathematical Skills

• Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
• Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability

• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Computer Skills

• Knowledge Graphics Applications including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Esko's ArtPro, and Nexus
• Must also be able to work with Filemaker, Microsoft Word and Excel.
