Job Description:

The Roll Man plays a vital role in the operation of our web press equipment by managing the paper roll feeding system. Working directly with the Press Operator, the Roll Man is responsible for setting up, loading, and maintaining paper rolls to ensure continuous press operation with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Load, splice, and monitor paper rolls into web press units using hoists and roll-handling equipment
• Assist in setting up and preparing the press for production runs
• Monitor paper supply and roll alignment to prevent web breaks
• Remove spent rolls and maintain clean and organized roll storage areas
• Communicate with press operators and maintenance teams regarding any issues or adjustments
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines for material handling and press operation
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of roll equipment
• Document production data and material usage as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in a printing or manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable operating hoists and powered industrial trucks (certification a plus)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
