Pay: $25.00/hr - 26.50 (+$1.00/hr Night Shift Differential)

As our Die Maker, you will:
This position is responsible for designing, programming, and fabricating dies used in cutting, embossing, debossing, and foil stamping processes. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in manufacturing, proficiency in CAD software, and experience operating CNC machines.
Design dies using CAD software (CorelCAD, Corel Photo paint, ArtiosCAD).
Program and operate CNC machines to manufacture dies from various materials.
Interpret die layout drawings, dielines, and technical specifications for book finishing processes.
Ensure accuracy and quality of die cuts, embossing/foil dies, and folding dies.
Collaborate with press operators and design teams to troubleshoot and optimize die functionality.
Maintain die-making equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Keep records of die specifications, materials used, and project timelines.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
Set up a job using computer programs and CNC/milling machinery.
Complete quality control on any new film/files provided (new or reprints with changes).
Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 60 pounds and work in varying conditions
May be exposed to chemicals, vapors, and other materials (nitric acid, magnesium, caustic soda, ferric chloride).
Ability to work in the manufacturing floor and die shop setting.
Ability to work around exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
Requires use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
Qualifications:
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to work as a team or independently.
Must be able to read and understand written instructions, read a ruler and perform basic math.
2+ years experience in die making, CNC operation, or a related field (preferred book printing industry).
Proficiency in CAD software (CorelCAD, ArtiosCAD, or similar).
Experience with CNC machinery, including setup, tool selection, and troubleshooting.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to read blueprints, dielines, and technical drawings.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Preferred experience in the book printing or packaging industry.
Preferred knowledge of hot stamping, embossing, or foil stamping techniques.
Preferred familiarity with laser die-cutting or rotary die systems.
