SUMMARY:

To set up, make ready, operate and maintain web offset printing press.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inserts packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate to printing height, fastens reinforcing bars to offset blankets and install plates and blankets on press cylinders.
  • Fills ink and dampening solutions fountains of press.
  • Maintain and get color up to job specifications.
  • Observe press operation to detect machine malfunctions and examines printed copy for ink density, position on paper and registration. Make adjustments to the press Washes press and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
  • Set up or operate auxiliary equipment, such as folding, plate-making, or laminating machines.
  • Keeps daily time, production and material usage reports.
  • Lead and give directions to and monitor the work of the Rollstand Operator and Press Assistant.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Willing to work overtime when needed
  • The ability to work 10 to 12 hour shifts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of formal job related training (can be waived)
  • 4-6 years of job related work experience (can be waived)
