The successful candidate must display a professional demeanor and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced production environment. The position will require analytical skill with a great attention to detail while adhering to tight deadlines. The candidate will work under the supervision of the Production Coordinator.The candidate must have the ability to execute basic to complex functions using the following software: Adobe creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), and Quark. A knowledge of Prepare It and XmPie Udirect a plus. Professional color correction and color retouching as well as some design skills are also a plus.The candidate will generate files/proofs that comply with job and departmental specifications and procedures. The candidate is responsible for troubleshooting, file manipulation, and imposition of the output in a pdf workflow. Job Posting Description The Prepress Manager will work directly with Publishing, Creative Services and Internet teams, as well as on and offsite vendors. This person will manage color show schedules, track progress of projects, act as a liaison between departments, source projects to external vendors, proof and ensure delivery of required web material. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Act as a liaison for Creative Services and production vendors other internal departments and internal clients, etc. for coordination of project timelines. -Maintain/ track project calendar ensuring schedules and deadlines are on track and provide foresight to determine if deadlines will not be met. -Reconfigure deadlines and schedules as necessary to ensure overall project completion by final deadline. -Partners closely with the Digital Asset Coordinator maintain a proper digital workflow, by working and problem solving with digital technicians, designers and separators. -Partners closely with the Digital Asset Coordinator with preparing all incoming digital file (conversions, resizing, etc.). -Outsource web projects to appropriate vendor per Director's direction. -Approve color shows, provide direction as needed to re-touchers to attain acceptable standards. -Manage Catalogue Publishing Coordinator in organizing storage space and samples; oversee the sending of samples on a daily basis. -Oversee Catalogue Publishing Coordinator with regard to updating the mainframe in a timely fashion. -Prepare image and color instructions to pre-press vendors for outgoing web production projects. This includes mark-ups, creation of swatches and reviewing instructions with Creative Services. -Commit to approaching the process proactively by communicating issues that could slow the process or increase the budgets. -Provide information regarding in-house photo searches and process requests for Photos within the Megabrand. -Assist production department to ensure digital artwork and files are ready for print. -Aid in acquiring all photography and maintain the Victoria¿s Secret Library. -Works with Creative Services, Production and Photo Art departments on the distribution and acquisition of photographic and layout materials. -Review web projects and various print projects for color and quality consistency and compliance. -Document and communicate results to vendors and internal clients. -Conduct online research and gain a better sense of how as a department we can better manage the workflow. -Works proactively with a sense of urgency and motivation and volunteers assistance without being asked. -Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Qualification -Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience -3 - 5 years experience with color correction and retouching -3 - 5 years experience with color mark up and color shows -Experience with Photoshop -Must be proficient in Mac platform -Must have a background and interest in photography -Must have a positive attitude and work well under pressure -Must have flexibility to successfully deal with changes in the working environment and be comfortable in an independent role -Ability to quickly grasp digital workflows and make innovative improvements to those workflows
