The candidate will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects, while maintaining accuracy and quality control. Job Title: Graphic Designer Assistant / Laser Plate-Maker Company: Pad Print Machinery of Vermont Location: East Dorset, VT Description: Pad Print Machinery of Vermont, an OEM and leader in engineered printing solutions and supplies, is looking for the right individual to fill an open position within our company.  We are seeking a high-energy, self-starter, with significant technical experience to excel in this position! Position: Graphics Assistant / Laser Plate-Maker Reports to: Lead Graphic Designer / Technical Service Manager Supervises: Not Applicable Job Summary Responsibilities for the two aspects of this position include the following: Electronically designs and prepares layouts and film positives for cliché production based on customer specifications and requirements. Updates Graphics database as individual jobs are submitted and completed. Ensures all necessary sales orders are created. Prints and inspects film positives. Completes paperwork and submits final film(s) to the Plate Department for production. Communicates with customers to receive artwork approval. Organizes and properly stores film positives. Set ups and configures newly purchased equipment / hardware for customer deployment. Produce test plates and actual production plates for customers' image(s) as part of initial deployment. Produces production plates for everyday customer orders. Provides on-site or in-house training for customers purchasing new equipment. Completes other work-related tasks assigned by management. Responsible for the quality and adequacy of own work. Accountabilities/Scope Interfaces: Production personnel, Customer Service representatives, Engineering, and Customers. People Managed: May provide guidance and direct work of others. Decisions: Under minimal supervision, works independently or as part of a team. Impact of Error: Impact is on quality, order accuracy, and timeliness of product delivery to the customer. Knowledge/Skills Proficient in CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, and/or Adobe Photoshop. Ability to use and proficiency in using a PC to produce sophisticated graphical imaging. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Mobility requirements include standing, walking, reaching, bending. Ability to read and follow written and/or verbal instructions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Use of measurement devices, power tools, and equipment.
