Port City Press, a Cenveo company and premier book and directory manufacturing facility seeks a Shift Supervisor (Bindery/Pressroom) 3rd shift/10:30 pm. ? 7:30 a.m. for its Pikesville, MD location.
Responsibilities include:
? Direction and coordination of press and bindery, including supervises and manages personnel in job production, including monitoring the quality of the jobs produced and the productivity of the shift.
? Manages personnel issues that arise during the shift.
? Makes decisions and modifies activities according to schedule commitments, available materials, information, product quality, employee availability and skill issues.
? Assures all work areas are properly staffed & available, manpower is allocated and used in an efficient manner.
? Documents thoroughly all activities occurring on the shift including job progression, operational problems, and manpower or personnel issues.
? Assists in resolving mechanical problems & enforces safety regulations.
? Recommends measures to improve production methods.
? Acts as a proactive initiator of change. Leads, gives direction to and monitors work of shift associates.
? Identifies process improvement activities and completes projects as assigned.
? Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
? Thorough knowledge of ALL facets of binding operations and good understanding of press and prepress along with production interrelationships.
? Ability to plan ahead and anticipate operational issues.
? Knowledge of Federal and State hazardous waste handling and disposal.
? Computer proficiency with Microsoft office experience
? Printing/graphic arts experience with a record of progressive responsibilities and results.
? Excellent management and leadership skills with a positive attitude.
? Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
? Ability to manage multiple demands and problem solve.
? Ability to remain standing for an entire shift and carry up to 50 lbs.
? 7+ Years of experience in the area(s) supervised and or a combination there of higher education or experience.
